Why Sweet Lou?

I forgot to mention in the introduction why I chose to call this blog "Sweet Lou's Views". To start with, I like alliterations. Next: some of you might recall when Lou Pinella was with the Yankees. Whenever he came to bat, Yankee Stadium broke out in "Lou - Lou - Lou", except it sounded like "Boo". Now, when any ballplayer has a name that sounds like 'Lou", the fans like to say that name, for example, "Moose" Mussina. Everytime he does something right, the fans cheer by saying "Moose" which sounds like "Boo" which sounds like "Lou". So, that's where that came from. Eventually, Lou Pinella became know as Sweet Lou for his smooth swing. Why did I choose that name? When I was a daily golfer ~10 years ago, I had a pretty smooth swing. Not a lot of power, but nice and easy. Well, one day, one of my golf partners started calling me "Sweet Lou", so it caught on. Personally, I never liked the title because it was a little pretentious, but rather than telling people to stop calling me that, I just ignored it. Well, that seems appropriate because most people are probably going to ignore this blog.

So that's why it's "Sweet Lou's Views". Make sense?

Introduction

I decided to try a blog to see if I can consistantly write coherently and interestingly about "life", and, more importantly, about college basketball. So, as the mood strikes me, I will try to pen some words that others might find humorous, insightful, or maybe even incite-ful. I welcome comments and suggestions but will probably ignore them because this is MY blog.
